Sunday Summer School -M is For Monster (if you're a parent you need this)

Welcome to a great edition of Sunday School!  I know I have introduced you to some fabulous products but as a mom and teacher this one takes the gold medal.  M is for Monster is a subscription service that offers you the chance to provide educational activities for your child at home. Oh and ,"YES!" you can buy just one box if you want to try it, trust me you will be buying another. I received the May M is for Monster pre-school box and was immediately impressed with the organization. In the box came four coloured bags with a sticker for each week of May. There is also an activity breakdown so you know what to do with your child. In each weekly bag are all the items you will need for that week. Things like, a beach ball, snap easter eggs, markers, paint, and much much more are all included, you need to get NOTHING!

Here is a closer picture of the weekly breakdown, each week has a topic and three to four activity ideas to go along with it. Each activity has been carefully created to meet the developmental age of your child.

 Each item in the weekly bag is packaged so you know just what to do with it. These little flowers are just waiting to be put together.

The pages that come in each bag are very child friendly using colours and tactile items as part of the activities.

In my house we have just finished week 3 (these pictures were taken just when the box arrived so that you could all see how amazing they are). My son LOVES the activities and it has given us many ideas to do on a rainy day or when we have time after dinner. I am sure you all have times in the day when you are stuck for something to do with your child. As a teacher, this box couldn't be better, these are skills that I expect my junior and senior kindergarten children to know and this reinforcement is amazing. Here we are reading the story book that came with week 2, about a mouse hiding a strawberry from a bear.

After we read the story we practiced the letter S and put strawberry stickers all over the S paper.

We are feeding the frog which was an activity from week 1, to learn the numbers 11, 12, 13. I did make number cards 1-10 for this game as well, and it was a BIG hit! Head to the M is For Monster site now.

Thursday How To- Create Your Veeshee Bag

Monday Musings -Karina Dress

Happy Monday and if you are in the United States I hope you are having a great Memorial Day. Sunday School- Little Life Box -Review

Happy Sunday Gorgeous!

I know you are wondering what all these products are doing on the blog today. All of these came in a great Canadian subscription box called Little Life Box. Little Life Box is a health subscription based box that allows you to try all natural products. Some can be used in recipes, some can be used to eat on their own, and some are beverage-ly delicious.  This box I received had some awesome goodies in it.

This cocoa powder is all natural and guaranteed sold using the Fair Trade model. It is delicious! The Peter Piper Pepper next to the cocoa powder was a welcomed surprise! Our house was just out of peppercorns so we have refilled our pepper mill. I love that Little Life Box includes small spice boxes such as tumeric and curry powder. I do not cook with these spices so now I am much more inspired to use them.



The assortment of teas and coffee is very prominent in this Little Life Box. My house does not drink a lot of tea, but I know many of my guests do. These are great healthier alternatives for them to try while visiting.

Thursday How To- Get a Spring Look for Less

Today I am showing a great spring look that you can re-create easily! The shirt and the skirt are less than $40 and look like a dress when paired together. Try This Tuesday- Scent Trunk

Today's Try This Tuesday is all about a great subscription service called Scent Trunk. Scent Trunk is a cologne and perfume subscription service that offers you the chance to sample fragrances from niche brands not sold in department stores. You can find a list of brands here, that Scent Trunk works with. When you enter the Scent Trunk site you will be asked to fill in a short survey about what fragrance smells you are drawn to, and if you prefer to get a women's, man's or a unisex box. In the Scent Trunk I received there were three sample bottles. I was surprised at the small size, but trust me, a little product goes a long way. These sample bottle are highly concentrated fragrances and each scent is very unique.  I did quite like them all, and was pleasantly thrilled with the options.   Scent Trunk has a scent school breakdown that I must share with you. This explains why the fragrances are sample sized."One interesting thing you�ll find with Scent Trunk, is that you�ll get a different amount of each of your fragrances, and you�re probably wondering why! 

The fragrance oil is what makes a scent rich, and long-lasting.  Different fragrances have different amounts of oil and this affects its longevity.  Here are the different types of fragrances and the amount of oil in them:

1)      Eau Fraiche: 3% or less

2)      Eau de Cologne: 2 � 5%

3)      Eau de Toilette: 4 � 10%

4)      Eau de Parfum: 8 � 15%

5)      Soie de Parfum: 15 � 18%

6)      Parfum: 15 � 25%"
